CLASS 26 025 RAILFREIGHT RED STRIPE TATTY W/ED WESTIE LOGO

PROTOTYPE/HISTORY

The British Rail Class 26 diesel locomotives, also known as the BRCW Type 2, were built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company (BRCW) at Smethwick in 1958-59. Forty seven examples were built, and the last were withdrawn from service in 1994. Like their higher-powered sisters, the BRCW Classes 27 and 33, they had all-steel bodies and cab ends with fibreglass cab roofs. They were numbered D5300-D5346.

MODEL

1:76 Scale model of a Class 26 diesel locomotive decorated in Railfreight Red Stripe Tatty w/ED Westie Logo livery. These models have been specially commissioned by Gaugemaster and form part of the Gaugemaster Collection Series.

These models feature lots of era specific details and markings and lots of external body details as modelled on the prototype.

Staff have been very helpful in the past with an order where I had to swap out a container for a similar one . That’s good service as I was notified back then before sending , this allowed me to pick one I recall - simple and job done for the container order . Now today fits the bill for finding the popular wagon , plus a couple more , had one in stock which sold out in my local region . I’ve also found on this site others in the past at great deals too .
