Who We Are

Rainbow Railways is a specialist model railway shop and workshop based in Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland, at Unit 24, Little Mill Business Park, Linlithgow Bridge, EH49 7DA. 

Models, Scenic supplies, Accessories, and much more — drawing from top names in the hobby such as Bachmann, Cavalex, and Revolution Trains, among others.

But we don’t stop at just selling models — one of our core strengths is the sound fitting and DCC specialisation we offer. Whether you have a locomotive you want to convert to DCC, or you want high quality sound fitted into your roster, we’ve got the skills and expertise to help. Our shop even advertises custom weathering and DCC / sound fitting options for stock. 

Our Story & Team

Rainbow Railways has grown from humble beginnings into a well-known name in the UK modelling community. The founding spark came when Colin, Michael and Mark turned a personal interest in repainting and customising model trains into a thriving business. 

Over the years, the team has expanded and includes dedicated staff such as Adam, Ailie, and Max who bring technical know-how, craftsmanship, and customer service to everything we do.

We’ve earned a reputation for going “the extra mile” — not just in the quality of our work, but in supporting customers, responding to queries, and delivering value. Customers often praise our fast dispatch, helpful staff, and willingness to resolve issues.

Our partnership with Revolution Trains also allows us to offer bespoke finishing & customization services for their models — e.g. we complete number and livery finishing on “Revolution Bespoke” models before they are shipped to customers.   We also select various base models from Bachmann which are transferred into the latest liveries for our customers
