Description
An all-new TT:120 model of the Mk2F Restaurant First Buffet, based on Hornby's detailed Mk2F tooling and the ideal catering vehicle for an existing rake of Mk2F coaches. The RFBs were converted from surplus Mk2F First Opens from the late 1980s, letting long-distance InterCity and Cross Country trains serve refreshments. Length approx. 168mm.
The Mk2 family evolved over twelve years around a monocoque steel body that held together far better in a collision than the Mk1. No new catering vehicles were built for the Mk2F fleet, so the first were converted from existing First Opens.
This version: TT4091 depicts No. 1202 in BR InterCity Swallow livery, Era 8.
