About the British Rail Class 31
The British Rail Class 31, originally known as the Brush Type 2, entered service in the late 1950s and became a familiar sight on passenger, freight and departmental duties throughout Britain.
During their later careers, many Class 31 locomotives were used on infrastructure and engineering trains.
The distinctive Dutch grey and yellow livery became closely associated with British Rail departmental operations, making this model particularly suitable for layouts depicting engineering trains and railway maintenance work during the late 1980s and 1990s.
Packaging and Important Information
The locomotive is supplied in an older Hornby box showing some shelf wear.
PLEASE NOTE: THE BOX SLEEVE SHOWS A DIFFERENT LOCOMOTIVE.
The box belongs to the original donor model used for the renumbering to 31134, so the sleeve does not match the locomotive's current running number.
No additional spare detailing components or couplings are included.
