Description
The Midland Railway's Diagram D299 was a 5-plank open goods wagon, one of the general-merchandise workhorses that made up the bulk of the company's huge wagon fleet. Simple timber-bodied opens like these carried everything from coal and minerals to general goods.
Large numbers passed to the LMS at the Grouping, while others found further use away from the Midland - a sell-off of second-hand wagons saw the type running for railways and companies across the country, from the S&DJR and LSWR to the Hull & Barnsley, SECR and a number of light railways and industrial owners.
This is a brand-new OO gauge tooling from Rapido Trains, finely detailed and accurately finished for each operator and running number.
This version: No.961 in S&DJR Grey livery.
Features include:
• All-new OO gauge tooling
• Detailed timber-planked body
• Separately fitted details
• Accurate operator lettering and running number
• NEM coupling pockets
