About the Class 27
The British Rail Class 27 was built by Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company between 1961 and 1962.
Originally designated the BRCW Type 2, these locomotives became closely associated with Scotland, working passenger and freight services throughout the Scottish Region.
The BR Two-Tone Green livery with half yellow ends is particularly suited to layouts depicting the transition from steam to diesel traction during the 1960s.
Please note: Although the locomotive runs well, no working lights were visible during testing.
