History
Built at Swindon as one of 77 ‘2900’ Class 4-6-0s, No. 2945 belongs to the final group of 25 ‘Saints’ built between 1911 and 1913, known as the ‘Court’ series, named after famous mansion houses that were named as Courts. ‘Hillingdon Court’ was from the second batch of three lots, emerging from Swindon in June 1912. Its only physical alteration, other than routine boiler swaps and replacement parts, was the fitting of outside steam pipes in January 1938. It lasted in service for over 41 years, not withdrawn until June 1953 from its final shed under BR, Cardiff Canton."""

What fantastic customer service from Mark and the team at Rainbow! My online request was quite involved, but nothing was too much trouble and they were able to supply just what I wanted. Definitely the place to go if personal, human interaction is how you prefer to shop!

Rainbow Railways is on my list for the shop that has the items I can’t get down south . So I do browse every now and again . Staff have been very helpful in the past with an order where I had to swap out a container for a similar one . That’s good service as I was notified back then before sending , this allowed me to pick one I recall - simple and job done for the container order . Now today fits the bill for finding the popular wagon , plus a couple more , had one in stock which sold out in my local region . I’ve also found on this site others in the past at great deals too . Can’t complain excellent service.

Superb well stocked model railway shop. Excellent knowledge base with a fine service to match. Ordering online or by phone makes the purchase of any stock item or new pre-order item very easy. Fitting service available for decoders and speakers etc from various suppliers. Highly recommended with excellent staff and every visit is enjoyable and fun, as it should be.

Very well priced, quick to dispatch and that's backed up by knowledgeable and service-focused people. When I had a small problem with one of my models (not their fault, rare manufacturer issue) they went above and beyond to get it sorted. Definitely one of the local model railway shops we should be supporting, both in person and online. Recommended without hesitation.

Great model rail shop, close enough to be my ‘local’! Great range and can customise models, allows click and collect so ideal to pick up - and be enticed by other items 😁!
