Description

An all-new TT:120 model of the Mk2F Restaurant First Buffet, based on Hornby's detailed Mk2F tooling and the ideal catering vehicle for an existing rake of Mk2F coaches. The RFBs were converted from surplus Mk2F First Opens from the late 1980s, letting long-distance InterCity and Cross Country trains serve refreshments. Length approx. 168mm.

After privatisation, Virgin Trains ran large numbers of Mk2Fs as locomotive-hauled stock, mainly on the West Coast Main Line but also on its cross-country routes, with RFBs marshalled into fixed formations on long-distance services.

This version: TT4089 depicts No. 1213 in Virgin Trains red, Era 9.

Never had shopped before with Rainbow Railways (on-line), but they had the product I wanted, which I found with them through Google. Quick shipping and incredibly well packed (took a bit of time to unpack). As I ordered twice within a few hours, on request they refunded me postage of one order without a problem. Left item in basket for a couple of days before I could actually place and pay for order. Thought I was being scammed as I had entered my credit card and Paypal details on the order.
