Description
The BR Mk1 family includes some of the most successful coach designs in railway history, built in their thousands and lasting from the early 1950s to the present day. In the late 1950s and early 60s they ran behind everything from A3s, A4s and Black 5s to Class 31s and 47s. Length approx. 166mm.
The Brake Second Corridor (BSK) gave space to the guard as well as room for luggage and parcels.
No Mk1 train was complete without a brake coach. The BSK gave around half its length to the guard's compartment and luggage area, with second class compartments and a side corridor in the remainder.
