These wagons are amongst the last 4 wheel tanks still running on the rail network today from the North East to Fort William and onto Corpach hauled by GBRF class 66 locos. Normally routed up the East Coast Mainline, diversions have seen them run through to Carlisle and up the WCML. They have seen haulage by a wide range of traction over the years, especially in the BR era and with 37’s under EWS into the 2000’s.
These are the last missing wagons for Rannoch so I’m personally delighted to see the team at Revolution have a go at this rather niche tank subject. The layout pics show very early tooled sample which captures the bulk of these tanks perfectly. The underframe detail is impressive which really adds to the character of the wagons on the track with the discharge gear and pipe work visible. The tank hatches were really the only change needed to correct the shape.
